About the artist
Leslie studied at Kennesaw State University and the Atlanta College of Art located in the High Museum of Art complex. He developed a keen awareness of color and learned to work with many different mediums. Over the years he has continued to develop these skills to achieve his desired effect on his original works of art. Today, Leslie's works have a unique style that reflects his many years of experimentation. His extensive travels, throughout the United States, over the last 30 years has inspired many of his works and ultimately influenced his decision to create unique originals on navigational charts. These are the same charts mariners use to navigate by. He uses oils, acrylics, watercolors, charcoals and pen and inks depending on the look he is trying to create. His combination of lighthouses, boating scenes and occasionally marine life sends the viewer into fond memories of places traveled or dreams of places they would love to visit one day... People with extensive art collections have often commented that Leslie's charts are the biggest conversational item hanging on their walls. Mr. Grant is also a fine photographer, musician, avid gardener and active member of the National Speleological Society. His artwork has been shown throughout the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska, as well as Canada.
